In life, sometimes we aren't taught how to effectively manage emotions, build and maintain inner strengths and resources or confidence. It's not your fault and it's not too late to learn better ways to increase your own sense of self-worth, communicate better within yourself and with others. We can work together, to examine underlying problems, what is and is no longer serving you in your life. We can safely explore and re-frame your emotional responses to past and current trauma. I will help you to become more empowered and learn how to better trust and rely on yourself. My clinical approach combines a variety of evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Positive Neuroplasticity and incorporate meditation, mindfulness and the physical body through Somatic Therapy strategies. These techniques are proven to be highly effective in changing engrained patterns of thinking and reacting, creating coping strategies, learning and experiencing positive experiences that create new pathways for change, relief from upsetting symptoms and can aid in a deeper understanding of why mental health issues arose in the first place. This helps us then make connections and observe patterns so that we feel better prepared to handle stressful life events without feeling we are in crisis each time. You have the ability within you, we can all benefit from support and guidance to live our best lives.

As an experienced social worker, I received individualized training from a Rutgers Law Project lawyer and the surrogate's office to learn the guardianship process. Guardianship is a legal process by which the Surrogate’s Court, may grant a person to advocate for an individual with an intellectual and/or developmental disability and their needs. When an individual with intellectual delays and developmental disabilities turns 18, they may not be able to make sound decisions and their family may no longer be able to make decisions on their behalf without being appointed the legal guardian. I have years of experience successfully helping families with this process and provide these services at a reasonable rate, in an effort to assist families in need. I will make the process easy and help ease the stress associated with the application process.
